# Private browsers for Mac

> Browsers for Mac that block trackers by default, send little or no usage data and need no account. Facts and sources, no rankings.

"Private" means different things: blocking, no usage data, or a hidden IP address.

We make Kort, so it is first and labelled; the rest is not a ranking.

What we looked at: Tracker blocking on by default; Telemetry off or none; No account needed; Runs on Mac. Checked 2026-11-01.

## Questions

### Which private browser hides my IP address?

Tor Browser does, through the Tor network. The others block trackers but do not hide your IP address unless you use a VPN.

### Does Kort send any data?

Kort sends no usage data. To keep your license active it renews a token with our server, which sees only a random, hashed device-group id.
